Glasp combines an AI YouTube summarizer with a web and PDF highlighter. You can read a video's transcript, generate key takeaways with timestamps, and save useful passages alongside notes from articles and documents. It gives students, researchers and writers a way to keep source material together while deciding what deserves a closer read.

The YouTube summarizer supports custom prompts, summary length controls and multiple output languages. You can highlight parts of the transcript and return to the relevant moment in a video. Glasp also summarizes articles and PDFs, answers questions about documents, and transcribes uploaded audio.

Saved highlights become a library you can tag, search and revisit. Its personal AI chat answers questions using your highlights and notes, so you can retrieve an idea without remembering exactly where you found it. An MCP connector makes that saved material available to compatible AI assistants.

Browser extensions and mobile apps let you collect material across devices. You can import Kindle highlights, export notes to other applications, or download your library in formats including Markdown, HTML, CSV and JSON.

Highlights are public by default. The free plan includes unlimited public highlighting and limited use of summaries, PDF chat, AI chat and audio transcription. Paid plans add private highlights, higher AI allowances and automatic daily exports to Notion. Even the Unlimited plan has caps on certain AI features, so check the allowance for your intended workflow.
