Meshy

Meshy is an AI 3D creation platform for turning prompts, reference images, sketches, and existing models into usable 3D assets. It is mainly for people who need assets faster than a traditional modelling workflow allows: game developers, 3D printing hobbyists, product designers, educators, VR teams, and creators testing ideas before committing time in Blender, Maya, Unity, Unreal, or another full 3D pipeline.

The core tools are Text to 3D, Image to 3D, AI texturing, Smart Remesh, rigging, animation, and export. You can type a prompt or upload a reference image, generate a textured model, preview it in the browser, then download it in common formats including FBX, OBJ, USDZ, GLB, STL, and BLEND. Meshy also supports PBR maps, so generated or uploaded models can get diffuse, roughness, metallic, and normal maps rather than a flat decorative texture.

For non technical users, Meshy is useful because it lowers the starting barrier. You do not need to know sculpting, UV mapping, or topology just to get a first model. For experienced 3D artists, it is better treated as a fast concepting and asset drafting tool. The results can still need cleanup, especially when topology, proportions, or production level control matter. That is normal for AI 3D. It is fast, but it does not replace a good artist on detailed work.

The workflow controls are stronger than the basic prompt to object idea suggests. Meshy includes multi view image generation, free retry on the same prompt, texture editing, asset management, bulk generation, animation tools, and plugins for tools such as Blender and Unity. There is also an API for teams that want to build 3D generation into an app, marketplace, or internal pipeline.

Commercial use depends on your plan. Meshy says premium subscribers own the assets they create, while free plan outputs are available under a CC BY 4.0 license, which means attribution is required. That detail matters if you plan to sell models, use assets in a client project, or publish them inside a game.

There is a free plan with monthly credits, and paid plans add more credits, faster generation, private asset ownership, API access, and higher usage limits. Enterprise options cover team workspaces, SSO, centralized billing, and security controls.
