Emergent
Emergent turns a plain English product brief into a working full stack application. It generates the interface, backend logic, database, authentication, integrations, and deployment, then lets you continue changing the application through conversation.
You can build web apps, native mobile apps, dashboards, marketplaces, SaaS products, booking systems, ecommerce apps, and internal business tools. Emergent can add user accounts, roles, payments, notifications, external APIs, and AI features without making you configure each service manually.
Web projects commonly use React with Node.js or FastAPI and MongoDB. Mobile applications use Expo and React Native, with exportable builds for iOS and Android. This is real application code rather than a visual prototype that has to be rebuilt elsewhere.
Each build session runs inside an isolated Linux environment. The agent can install packages, run databases, start background services, execute builds, test API calls, and preview the application. Emergent uses Kubernetes environments rather than a lightweight browser sandbox, which gives its agents more room to handle full stack projects.
For focused jobs, the main builder works through the application interactively. More complicated projects can use E3, an autonomous builder currently available on the Pro plan. E3 interviews you about the requirements, breaks the project into phases, coordinates building and testing, and shows progress through Mission Control.
Its testing agent checks backend logic and clicks through frontend flows. When it finds a failure, it can send the problem back for another repair and verification cycle. You should still test the finished application yourself. Authentication, permissions, payments, and unusual user behaviour have a habit of finding the gap that an automated test missed.
The generated source code belongs to you. Paid plans include GitHub integration, so projects can sync to a repository for developer review, local editing, or deployment elsewhere. Emergent also provides managed hosting, live preview URLs, custom domains, monitoring, and direct mobile publishing support.
Code export reduces vendor lock in, although moving a project away from managed hosting may still require work. Databases, authentication, environment variables, storage, and payment webhooks do not relocate themselves merely because the source files are available.
The MCP connector is easy to miss. It lets supported AI assistants start builds, answer the builder's questions, inspect progress, and retrieve preview links. Final deployment and publishing still take place inside Emergent.
Business plans add shared workspaces, real time collaboration, pooled credits, role based access, and single sign on. Enterprise accounts add audit logs, usage controls, support agreements, self hosted database options, and deployment inside the company's own cloud environment.
There is a free plan with monthly build credits. Paid plans add more credits, private projects, GitHub access, longer context, advanced agent controls, collaboration, and enterprise governance. Credits pay for generation, code changes, testing, debugging, integrations, and hosted deployments. A vague prompt followed by ten rounds of repair can become expensive, so it pays to settle the scope before asking the agent to build.
Emergent works well for founders, agencies, product managers, and operations teams building MVPs, client applications, dashboards, or internal tools. Nontechnical users can get surprisingly far, but a production application still needs clear requirements and proper testing. For software handling payments, health information, private customer data, or complicated permissions, have an engineer inspect the generated code before launch.
